Publish an HTML page from Claude Code or Cursor
Your coding agent wrote report.html on your machine. Add one MCP server and the same agent publishes it, hands back a share link, and updates the page later without changing the link.
Coding agents are good at producing a single HTML file: a dashboard, a test report, a prototype, a write-up with charts. The file then sits in your project folder, and the usual ways to show it to someone are a Git push to a static host, a drag-and-drop upload in a browser, or attaching the file to a message where it downloads instead of opening.
An MCP server lets the agent do the sharing step itself. FileShare Pro runs one at https://fileproapp.com/mcp. Once it is added, “publish this as a page” returns a link anyone can open.
Add it to Claude Code
In a terminal, run: claude mcp add --transport http filesharepro https://fileproapp.com/mcp
Start Claude Code, type /mcp, pick filesharepro and sign in in the browser window that opens, then press Allow. A free account is enough.
Add it to Cursor, Windsurf or another MCP client
In the tool’s MCP settings, add a remote (HTTP) server with the same URL. It opens the same sign-in. If a tool cannot run a browser sign-in, create an API token in the FileShare Pro app under Connect → Advanced and send it as a Bearer token. The developer page has the steps for ChatGPT and claude.ai as well.
What you can ask once it is connected
- ✓“Publish dist/report.html as a page and give me the link.” The agent reads the file and sends its contents; you get a share URL back.
- ✓“Update the report page with the new build, same link.” The contents are replaced, the URL stays the same, and the previous version is kept in version history.
- ✓“Make the link expire on Friday.” Expiry, turning comments on or off, and holding guest comments for approval are all settings the agent can change.
- ✓“What did people say about the report?” Comments left on the page are read back into the session, so the agent can act on them.
- ✓“Put it in the Clients/Acme folder.” Files can be filed into folders as they are published.
Keep the page to one file
The upload sends one file’s text. A page that loads ./styles.css or ./chart.js from the project folder will be missing those parts once hosted. Ask the agent to inline the CSS and JavaScript first, or to load libraries from a public CDN. Making an HTML file self-contained covers what to inline and what can stay a link. If the hosted page still looks wrong, why an AI-built page breaks once hosted lists the usual causes.
Frequently asked
No. The free plan includes the MCP server, the API and the CLI, with up to 50 files and guest comments. Password-protected links and custom domains are on Pro.
No. Replacing a file keeps its share URL. The earlier contents stay in version history.
No. Anyone with the link can open the page. To comment they type a name.
Shared pages are sent with a noindex tag, so search engines do not list them.
Yes, there is a delete tool, and the link stops working at once. Claude Code asks before running a tool unless you have allowed it.
