Static.app is a static site host from Designmodo. You drop a ZIP or an HTML file and get a live site on a subdomain with SSL. Paid plans add custom domains, form handling, analytics, workspaces and team seats. It also offers an API and an MCP connector on every plan, including the trial.

Static.app plans

From static.app/pricing, checked 2026-11-05:

  • ✓Free trial: $0 for 7 days, no credit card. 1 website, 50 MB storage, 50 MB per file, free subdomain.
  • ✓Starter: $5 a month ($60 a year). 2 websites, 500 MB, custom domains, analytics, forms.
  • ✓Medium: $10 a month. 7 websites, 3 GB, 1 team seat.
  • ✓Large: $15 a month. 30 websites, 10 GB, 3 team seats, 3 backup slots.
  • ✓Add-ons: extra websites from $4, extra storage from $5 per GB, extra teammates from $5 a month.

Where it fits and where it does not

Static.app suits a site that should stay up under your own domain: a landing page, a portfolio, a small business site with a contact form. The plans are priced per website, so it works best when you have a few sites you keep for months.

It fits less well when you share many one-off pages, such as drafts, reports or AI-generated prototypes. Each page is a website slot, and after the 7-day trial the free option ends. The pricing page lists no way for viewers to leave comments on a page.

Sharing the same file on FileShare Pro

Drag an .html file onto the dashboard and you get a link that serves it as a normal web page over HTTPS. The free plan has no trial clock: 50 files, 1 GB of storage and files up to 100 MB. Shared pages carry a noindex tag, so search engines do not list them.

Turn on comments and anyone with the link can pin a note to a spot on the page after typing a name, no account: letting people comment on a web page. Upload a new version and the link stays the same: updating a shared link without changing it. You can also see when the link was opened.

FileShare Pro does not host custom domains or process form submissions. For a lasting public site under your own domain, Static.app or GitHub Pages is the better fit: FileShare Pro vs. GitHub Pages.
